Tour guide Rhett at the beginning of the trail. Madonna and I don't like this pack. It makes me look ridiculous.

Our 2nd Hiking with Your Hound excursion was on June 29, 2008. We went to the Grace Coolidge Walk -In fishing Area in Custer State Park. It was a perfect day and the hikers and the hounds thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the water.

C'mon in Yatzee, the water's fine! (Hey Mike, how are those water proof boots working for you?)

Is it a beaver? A muskrat? The Loch Ness Monster?  No! It's Rachel the lab in water dog heaven!

Lots o'water,
Lots o'dogs,
Lots o'fun!!

Hey Rachel, there are 7 dams on this hike--are you going to try them all?!
So next time, you carry
my water and food, OK, because
I reallllly don't like this pack.
Just a glimpse of the
beautiful native flowers
and foliage in
this gorgeous canyon.
Hey, wait up!  I'm the
leader here, remember?
Every hiking group needs a responsible adult to bring
up the rear to make sure no one is lingering behind. Rhett takes
this job very seriously.
Does it get any better than this? I heard something.....
....yep, there it is, right over there
A chipmunk that
I will protect you from.
Ahh, a break for lunch.
Hunter, Yatzee and Rachel keeping an eye out for marauding squirrels.

Lunch by the shore at Center Lake. Then we're off again,
back the way we came.

Our next hike will be on the Flume trail. Watch for more pictures soon.
