About Us Canyon Lake Veterinary Hospital opened its doors in 1974 , which was the first AAHA accredited hospital in South Dakota. At that time, Dr. Mortimer worked with only one assistant. As a result of the success of CLVH and increased demand for high quality care, our hospital family has grown to 2 Veterinarians, 4 Registered Veterinary Technicians, a Veterinary Assistant, a Receptionist, and a Kennel Attendant. It is with great pride and much hard work that we earned accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Less than 5% of all animal hospitals in the country are AAHA accredited. In order to remain part of this elite group, we must keep the highest of standards and endure rigorous onsite inspections. CLVH was awarded a 25 yr. Standards of Excellence in June of 2001. Our mission is to provide exceptional pet care at a fair cost, to provide the highest quality, individualized care to our clients and their pets and to maintain a courteous and professional atmosphere which promotes mutual respect between clients and staff. By demonstrating pride in our work and using a team approach to educate our clients in the importance of preventive medicine, we will promote both human and animal well-being. |
