Wow! Here it is, July already! Seems like we’ve been waiting so long for summer and now that it’s here, it is just flying by. Chuck and I are really loving this weather—not too hot, not too cold. We have not actually been out in the weather of course, but we make our observations from the open windows and we love sitting in the fresh air and listening to all the birds
Every other Cats ONLY Tuesday is going very well. More details...

"Who let the dogs out (woof, woof, woof, woof)"
Rapid City’s Premier Cat Loving Veterinary Hospital - CLVH
We know that you have been out and about enjoying the great outdoors with your pets because you have been coming in to get heartworm tests, Heartgard and Frontline. I really appreciate that because that means that when you come in to visit us (and that is why you come right? To see Chuck and I-the visit to the doctor and the staff is an added bonus ) your pets have been protected against all those critters.
I hear tell that several dogs have been bitten by rattlesnakes....
this spring already. That is very scary to hear. Did you know that my staff has a vaccination for that now? It is a series of 2 vaccinations for the 1st year and then a booster every spring after that. This vaccine does not prevent the reaction to a rattlesnake bite, but it does reduce the effects. You still need to bring your dog to the veterinarians to be seen, but the vaccine gives you more time to do that. It also will prevent the tissue around the bite wound from dying, which is a huge benefit. Feel free to ask about it the next time you are in with your dogs.

And you know, speaking of the weather,
how about those afternoon thunderstorms we have been having? Aren’t they impressive? I love to sit on the countertops and watch them. But I know that some of the pets don’t like them at all. My staff can help with that too. We can talk to you about preparing for storms ahead of time and can advise you on ways to help your pets deal with them. If you have questions, please call us at 605-348-6510, or email us at clvh@clvh.net
And while we are on the subject, you know that the Fourth of July is just around the corner. You people have all kinds of fun on that day! While you really enjoy that, us animals would prefer a kinder, gentler celebration. But since that will probably never happen since this is such an important day, my staff has some suggestions for you to help your pets deal with all that commotion too. Actually, if you click on the button above or on the front page, there is a link to a page with some ideas for you.
As always, Chuck and I love to see you when you come in to visit the team here. We hope you have a great summer and take time to enjoy a few naps and curl up with a good book when the temperature gets up there and you need to stay inside out of the heat. Have fun with your friends and family and don’t forget to take your pets with you whenever you can!
